Beh Novoveskou Hutou begins on the square in Novoveská Huta, a district of Spišská Nová Ves in eastern Slovakia. Children race first, with the main field starting later in the afternoon. The primary race is a 12.2 km asphalt run featuring 240 meters of elevation gain, making it a challenging distance that isn't flat.
Additionally, there's a 5 km Beh pre zdravie, or “run for health,” with 120 meters of elevation gain, alongside children’s races of 200 m, 400 m, 700 m, 1 km, and 1.5 km. The main course extends to Vojtechova samota and returns, while younger participants use shorter routes within Huta. This event, now in at least its twenty-first edition, is organized by Občianske združenie Novoveská Huta and the City of Spišská Nová Ves. Adult participants are divided into age categories. The 5 km health run is open to all ages and genders, and children’s and youth categories have no entry fee. Following the races, the day maintains a community atmosphere: participants receive goulash, children enjoy a puppet show, and adults can listen to live music for dancing.
