À propos de cette course
The Grömitzer Sun-Run begins and ends at the Seebrücke pier in Grömitz, a Baltic Sea resort in Germany's northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. Held annually in May, it offers participants several race options: a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k for runners and walkers, nordic walking, and children's races. The event caters to amateur athletes of all ages, though the half marathon also attracts competitive runners aiming for fast times.
All routes follow an out-and-back course along the beach promenade, keeping participants near the sand and the Baltic Sea for much of the event. The half marathon includes an inland loop through farmland, passing Cismar Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with medieval origins. This combination of pier, promenade, coast, fields, and local history provides the longer race with more diversity than a straightforward seafront run.
