The Kindertriathlon des OSSV Kamenz is a youth triathlon held in Haselbachtal, Saxony, organized by Ostsächsischer Schwimmverein Kamenz. It is designed for children and teenagers, featuring age-group races from Schüler D through Schüler A and Jugend B, along with relay options for younger school-age athletes. The format follows the standard swim-bike-run structure, adapted for participants to race distances suitable for their age, accommodating both newcomers and club athletes.
The youngest participants compete over short distances: a 50 m swim, 1.2 km bike ride, and 400 m run. Older Schüler A and Jugend B athletes tackle a 400 m swim, 10 km bike ride, and 3 km run. A middle distance for Schüler B includes a 150 m swim, 4 km bike ride, and 1 km run. Relay races allow children to divide the disciplines among teammates, making the event suitable for experienced young triathletes and those trying a single sport. Participation is typically modest, with around ten to twenty children per race, contributing to a local club event atmosphere rather than a large-scale competition.
