The Dorney Lake Duathlon takes place in November at Dorney Lake, near Windsor. It utilizes the Olympic rowing venue situated between Court Lane and Lake End Road. Participants can choose from three distances: Super Sprint, Sprint, or Standard, all contested on a draft-illegal format. The event's draw is both practical and atmospheric, featuring entirely flat bike and run routes. With chip timing and routes kept clear of open roads, it is suitable for novices, cautious cyclists, and those aiming for a fast personal best.
The course includes marked run sections with distance markers and marshals on both bike and run legs to guide participants. Its multi-lap design allows spectators to see athletes multiple times. A balcony cafe provides a view of the transition area, offering unusual spectator comfort for a duathlon. British Triathlon membership and a race licence are required, though a single-use Race Pass can be purchased by those without annual membership.
