À propos de cette course
The Sri Chinmoy 50 & 100 Kilometer is a small ultramarathon held in the Amsterdamse Bos near Amstelveen, offering a 50-kilometer or 100-kilometer distance. The field is limited to 150 participants, making it a compact event rather than a large-scale road race. All runners complete repeated laps of just over 2.2 kilometers, with a 12-hour time limit for the 100-kilometer distance.
The loop begins and ends at De Uitkijk, an asphalt area across from hockey club Hurley. The course proceeds mainly through shaded forest, utilizing a combination of trail and asphalt paths with a minor incline. Each lap returns runners to the aid station, stocked with water, cola, sports drink, soup, tea, coffee, fruit, gingerbread, candy, bread, and cheese. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team manages lap counts, and inspirational quotes are placed along the route. The race attracts both Dutch and international ultrarunners drawn to the team’s self-transcendence philosophy.
