Race 3 of the Auckland Schools XC Series takes place at Totara Park, with the local MTB club utilizing its home trails. This event is part of a five-race school cross-country mountain bike series that also includes Maraetai, Slater Road, and Sanders Reserve, organized by Auckland mountain biking clubs for youth riders.
A practical school-race setup is in place: junior, intermediate, and secondary school riders compete in age groups, with awards given by classification. Series points are awarded based on overall times, with placings calculated from a rider's best four races.
