Massey University Recreation Centre provides the setting for this event, a Whanau team event based on the "ultimate obstacle course race" concept, scaled for families instead of individual competitors. The Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge: Palmerston North focuses on parents, caregivers, and children getting dirty together, emphasizing teamwork alongside speed.
Expect an off-road obstacle course where family teams "bond while tackling challenges" that "test their endurance, strength and teamwork." Teams are small, with an adult or parent accompanying one or two children aged 7-12. This setup allows for competitive families to push hard while children discover their capabilities.
