Malta 2K, 3K, 5k Trail Race
DIM OCT 18
The Malta 2K, 3K, and 5K Trail Race begins near the soccer fields at Luther Forest Athletic Field in Malta, New York, leading runners into the 100 Acre Woods. This local trail event offers short 2K and 3K races preceding the 5K, accommodating children, families, hikers, less experienced runners, and regular trail runners within the same morning. The course follows trails maintained by volunteers, primarily on a six-foot-wide stone-dust path with some softer sections further into the woods. The Roundabout Runners Club organizes the race, with all proceeds supporting supplies and maintenance for the local trail network. Each finisher receives a medal, the 5K awards trophies to the top three overall male and female participants, and results are published online.
10th Annual Summer Smith 5k Addiction Awareness Memorial Run
SAM OCT 24
The Summer Smith 5k Addiction Awareness Memorial Run begins at Guilderland High School in Guilderland Center, New York. The 5k starts at 10 am, following a 9 am Memory Ceremony. This tenth annual event features a 5k memorial run and a kids fun run, welcoming runners, walkers, children in strollers, and dogs. The race remembers Summer Smith, a mother of three who passed away after a 12-year struggle with addiction. Her mother, Kristin, established the event in Summer's memory. The core message is “Run the Race...Stop the Stigma!” The event's focus is not the course, but its purpose: families, friends, and community members convene before the run to remember those affected by addiction and to encourage open discussion about the subject.
Run to Remember 5K
SAM OCT 24
Boston's Run To Remember is a road-race event held on Memorial Day weekend, featuring a half marathon and a 5-mile race. The race honors fallen law enforcement officers and first responders; its memorial purpose is central to the day. The event includes several first-responder-focused features surrounding the races, such as a Uniform Tribute, a broader 1st Responder Tribute, an Emergency Vehicle Display, and a 1st Responder Challenge. Participants share the event with police, fire, EMS, and other public-safety personnel, giving it a distinct character compared to a standard city road race.
UCS Superhero 5K and Kids' Dash
SAM NOV 7
The UCS Superhero 5K and Kids' Dash is a fall community race in downtown Bennington, Vermont. It includes a 5K run/walk for adults, UCS staff, UCS clients, and children 12 and under. The race begins at the Berkshire Family YMCA, also known as the Bennington Recreation Center, on Gage Street. United Counseling Service organizes this, their ninth annual, superhero-themed race day. The 5K course winds through Bennington's streets, passing local businesses. The Kids' Dash takes place near the YMCA on the fenced field next to Gage Street. Children can join the dash at no cost on race day, with officers from the Bennington Police Department leading the short run. Costumes are encouraged, with participants invited to dress as favorite superheroes. The event benefits UCS youth programs, such as Chickens for Change, where young people raise, care for, and sell chickens and eggs, and Teens4Change, a peer-led group focused on community projects and volunteering.
Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K
JEU NOV 26
The Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K begins and ends at the historic Coila Church on State Route 372 in Cambridge, New York. This Thanksgiving morning 5K is open to runners and walkers. Strollers are permitted at the rear, and walkers are welcome provided they complete the course within the event's time limit. The course leads from Coila Church towards the village, proceeds along Old Coila Road, crosses sections of downtown Cambridge, passes the old Cambridge Hotel, and circles back via Main Street. Participants receive snacks, beverages, photographs, and small tokens. Local prizes, sourced from donations, are awarded to the top male and female finishers, with distinct awards for those over 60. Proceeds from the initial four events supported local charities including the Cambridge Food Pantry, Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, and Cambridge Fuel Fund.
Glens Falls Gobble Wobble
JEU NOV 26
The Glens Falls Gobble Wobble is a Thanksgiving morning 5K in downtown Glens Falls, New York. It starts and finishes at the Open Door Mission on Warren Street, and participants can run, walk, or “wobble,” so the field is built for casual walkers as well as runners. The race is tied directly to the Open Door Mission, with all proceeds supporting its work in the greater Glens Falls region. Donations from the event go toward winter programs for people who are homeless or under-resourced, so the holiday-morning run doubles as a local fundraiser before the rest of the day begins.
West Hill Turkey Trot
JEU NOV 26
The West Hill Turkey Trot sends runners up Terrace Road twice before Thanksgiving dinner. It is a neighborhood 5K run with a 1.5-mile walk option, starting from Terrace Road by the Activity Field at 10:00 a.m.; bib pickup and registration open an hour earlier. West Hill residents can enter free with a coupon code from the West Wind, while non-residents pay a small entry fee plus processing fees. The event proceeds rain or shine, strollers are allowed, and dogs are not. The 5K is a two-lap West Hill original with 165 feet of climbing on each lap, for 330 feet total. Its signature feature is the climb up Terrace Road, followed by a gradual descent on the back side of the loop. The walk starts just after the run and covers one shorter lap of 1.5 miles. This is the first running of the West Hill Turkey Trot, so the main tradition so far is simple: get outside with neighbors before the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
Duanesburg Turkey Trot 5K
JEU NOV 26
The Duanesburg Turkey Trot 5K is a Thanksgiving 5K held at 221 Victoria Drive in Delanson, New York. 4everBods Fitness Club hosts this local race, which is new this year. Runners will find ample parking and indoor space for warming up, along with race-day T-shirts. The details suggest a simple community 5K with a typical turkey-trot atmosphere, focused on a relaxed holiday run rather than a challenging course or a large festival.
The Albany IceBreaker Challenge 5K
SAM MAR 27
The Albany IceBreaker Challenge 5K is a Capital District road race held at the Albany Rowing Center Boathouse in the Corning Preserve. Participants run or walk a 5K course as Albany Rowing Center crews compete nearby on the Hudson River. This creates a unique event combining a footrace with a runners-versus-rowers challenge. A Kids Run is also scheduled for the morning, prior to the 5K. The 5K route utilizes the Corning Preserve Bicycle Path, with rowing shells navigating the adjacent river. This parallel course distinguishes the event from a typical local 5K, as land-based participants race alongside rowers on the same stretch of Albany waterfront. Registration is managed via RunSignup, and packet pickup along with late registration are offered before race day at Common Roots.

Quand on veut faire des boucles faciles, on va courir à The Crossings Park.
