Cyclists dominate here—the Cascade Cycling Classic Criterium and the legendary Oregon Trail Gravel (563km) draw serious competitors; the gravel network radiates from town across high desert and volcanic plateau, with the Cascades crest just 30km west offering alpine passes above 1,500 metres.
