Lance's Legacy 5k and Fun Run
SAM OCT 3
Lance's Legacy 5K and Fun Run is a fundraising run in Dalton, Georgia, starting from 652 Haig Mill Lake Road. It offers a 5K and a fun run, with a $30 registration fee for runners supporting the cause. The event is organized by Lance's Legacy, a nonprofit created in memory of Lance Sotelo, a runner from the Dalton and Charlotte running communities who died while out on a run. The race is held on Lance's birthday and raises money for scholarships for high school and college runners. These scholarships are for athletes who show perseverance, acceptance, and love, the qualities his family chose to carry forward through the nonprofit. The day also includes a live DJ, food vendors, inflatables, and awards, structured as both a community fundraiser and a family-friendly race day.
The Great Monster Hustle and The Mystery Distance
DIM OCT 4
Apple Festival 5K
SAM OCT 10
The Apple Festival 5K takes place in Ellijay, Georgia, on the morning of the Georgia Apple Festival. It includes a 5K, a one-mile fun run, and a virtual 5K option. The Ellijay Lions Club organizes this event, which is one of Georgia's longest-running 5Ks. The race details reflect a local event rather than a large-scale production. BT Race Timing manages the results, but chip timing is not used; finishers submit a card with their name, age, bib number, and gender. Awards are given to overall winners, masters, grand masters, and in five-year age groups from 10-and-under up to 80-and-over. Refreshments are available post-race, and free parking is offered around Ellijay Elementary School before festival road closures commence.
Tina's Cat Run
SAM OCT 17
Tina's Cat Run is an October benefit road race in Ball Ground, Georgia, offering a 5K, a 1 Mile Fun Run, and a virtual option. The race starts at Ball Ground City Park on Old Canton Road, near Main Street behind the Burger Bus. Cat Run Inc. organizes it as a charitable nonprofit event, with proceeds benefiting the Cherokee Family Violence Center and North Georgia shelter initiatives. The morning follows a small-town schedule: packet pickup and race-day registration open early at the park. The National Anthem and a prayer are offered at the start line before the 5K begins. The Fun Run follows, with medals presented as finishers cross the line, and Tina speaks before the awards ceremony. The race raises funds for local shelters and highlights domestic violence awareness, functioning as a community benefit day rather than a standard timed 5K.
WineSTEM 5K
DIM OCT 25
The WineSTEM 5K is a professionally timed 5K run/walk in New Hope, Pennsylvania, followed by a wine festival. It is part of the Run Now Wine Later series, featuring a simple format: complete the course, receive an official time if desired, and then enjoy the post-race gathering. The course is set in New Hope, a small river town in Bucks County. The race welcomes both runners and walkers, not exclusively competitive 5K racers. Registration provides a finisher medal, a race shirt available in unisex and women's sizes, entry to the post-race gathering, and a complimentary glass of wine from Olde Stone or Greenhouse.
Furry Scurry Fun Run and Walk
SAM OCT 31
The Furry Scurry Fun Run and Walk is a pet-friendly race morning at Chickamauga Dam in Chattanooga, Tennessee, offering a 5K and a 1 Mile option. The Husky Hustle 5K is the longer race, and the Dachshund Dash 1 Mile is the shorter one, with the event embracing a dog theme rather than treating pets as an afterthought. Runners and walkers are welcome to bring their pets, positioning it as a community fun run rather than a serious road-racing test. The setup includes water stations and prizes, and the event raises support for Warrior Freedom Service Dogs, a nonprofit focused on service-dog work for veterans.
Marigold Miles 5K: Día de los Muertos Run
DIM NOV 1
Marigold Miles 5K: Día de los Muertos Run is a 5K in Downtown Los Angeles incorporating Day of the Dead traditions. Thousands of families and friends gather to run, walk, and remember departed loved ones. The event supports the Olvera Street Merchants Association Foundation, which funds traditional, historical, cultural, and educational events connected to Olvera Street. The race begins on Main Street within El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, the city's oldest area and Olvera Street's location. The course travels through lower Chinatown and passes Los Angeles State Historic Park. Before the start, traditional Aztec dancers conduct a purification ceremony; around the course, participants paint their faces like skulls and place marigolds, candles, photos, and memorabilia on altars, including an official Community Altar. Following the finish, the festival proceeds with mariachi bands, folkloric dance groups, and stilt walkers, and the top three finishers in each gender category are awarded hand-painted skull trophies.
Tails, Trails, and Ales
SAM NOV 7
Tails, Trails, and Ales is a dog-friendly trail race day at Reflection Riding in Chattanooga, Tennessee, scheduled for the fall. Participants can choose from a 1-mile Pup Dash, a 5K, or a 10K, with timed and untimed options for those seeking a race effort or a relaxed trail outing with their dog. The event is designed for one dog per person, and all dogs must remain on a 6-foot leash. The race features dog-friendly aid stations, on-site veterinary and first-aid support, finisher awards for humans, pup bandanas, local craft beer, food from breweries and food trucks, pet-friendly vendors, and an option to support a local animal rescue or shelter. Nooga Paws, Bad Beard Events, and Reflection Riding are the hosts, with an anticipated field of approximately 200 human participants and their dogs.
2026 Twisted Tomato McCaysville Bigfoot Boogie 5K
SAM NOV 14
Harvest Creek Classic
SAM NOV 21
The Harvest Creek Classic 5K, known as “Huffin for Stuffin,” is a Thanksgiving-season 5K held at Cauley Creek Park in Johns Creek, Georgia. The race begins at 8:00 a.m., limits participants to 300 runners, and proceeds regardless of weather. It features chip timing, and all participants receive a long-sleeve soft tri-blend shirt and a finisher medal. The course is a USATF-certified 3.1-mile loop on Cauley Creek’s rubberized trail, run clockwise. This trail was developed with support from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program and was among the first rubberized 5K courses of its kind in the Southeast. Runners will see views of the Chattahoochee River, sports courts, athletic fields, a playground, and open park areas. The larger trail system extends across the Rogers Bridge Pedestrian Crossing into Rogers Park in Duluth and Gwinnett County.
Kyle Pease Foundation Blue Ridge Turkey Trot
JEU NOV 26
The Kyle Pease Foundation Blue Ridge Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day race/walk in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia. It is built for the whole family, with room for walkers, first-timers, and serious competitors on the same holiday-morning start line. The event keeps the schedule simple: get out, move through town, and still make it home in time to put the turkey in the oven. That makes it less like an all-day racing production and more like a local Thanksgiving ritual that can fit before the rest of the family plans.
14th Annual Stuffing Strut
JEU NOV 26
The Stuffing Strut is a Thanksgiving morning 5K walk/run held at Chester Frost Park in Hixson, Tennessee. Participants begin at 8:30 a.m., with registration available from 7:30 a.m., allowing for an early start before the holiday meal. This marks the event's 14th year, and all registered participants receive a race shirt. The course winds through Chester Frost Park, commencing and concluding near the park pavilion on Causeway Road. Winners in each age group are awarded commemorative medals. The race emphasizes local fundraising alongside competition, with proceeds benefiting Northside Neighborhood House, Soddy-Daisy Food Bank, Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department, and Soddy-Daisy Middle School's Jim Wilson Fund, all supporting residents of Northern Hamilton County.
