Jaimie Cox Memorial Run
SAM OCT 17
The Jaimie Cox Memorial Run begins at Roscoe Middle School in Roscoe, Illinois. In October, participants can choose between a 5K run/walk and a 2-mile walk. The event honors Jaimie Cox and serves as a charity fundraiser, noted by organizers as the Roscoe area’s largest 5K charity event. Starting from the school, the course proceeds west to the historic Stone Bridge Trail. It then turns south, reaches a halfway point, and loops back to Roscoe Middle School. The route features mixed surfaces, including crushed limestone and gravel, offering a different feel than a typical road 5K and resembling more of a community trail run. Registration is available for walkers, runners, children, and virtual participants, broadening the event beyond a standard timed race.
Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile Presented by 3 Sheep's Brewing
SAM OCT 17
Race Day Event's Beer Run & Beer Mile, presented by 3 Sheep's Brewing, takes place at Seminole Tap in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The event offers a varied menu: a standard 5K run/walk, a Beer Mile for participants aged 21 and older, and a 0.05K run/walk covering 164 feet. Both the 5K and 0.05K conclude with a complimentary pint of 3 Sheeps beer. Each registration includes a Beer Run hoodie, a race bib, and a finisher medal. The Beer Mile is the featured event: participants consume 12 ounces of 3 Sheeps beer, run a quarter-mile, and repeat this sequence four times before crossing the finish line. The 0.05K serves as a novelty option, designed for those seeking the shortest path to the beer while still receiving race-day benefits. Music, lawn games, spectators, and participants from the 5K and 0.05K contribute to a relaxed Wisconsin atmosphere, with the Beer Mile providing an incentive for attendees to remain after their own race.
Run Stephenson County
SAM OCT 17
Run Stephenson County begins and ends at the Jane Addams Trailhead in Orangeville, Illinois, offering a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and cycling fun ride. This is an annual YMCA fundraiser, with entry fees supporting reduced-cost access to YMCA programs and memberships for children, families, seniors, and neighbors. The half marathon features a flat start and finish, with rolling hills in the middle miles. The 5K and 10K courses are designed for runners aiming for fast times. The paved, certified route follows the Jane Addams Trail and local farmland roads, including chip timing, aid stations, and porta-potties. Participants receive a tech shirt, half marathon finishers are awarded medals, top finishers receive trophies, and the finish area provides food, vendors, and a close-knit community atmosphere.
Driftless Distance Night
SAM OCT 24
Driftless Distance Night is a summer evening track meet held under the lights at Central High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin. While the 5k is the primary event, the schedule also features a Community Walk/Jog 5k and youth races, accommodating both those seeking a relaxed group run and runners aiming for fast track times. All events take place on the track at 1801 Losey Blvd S, with participants eligible to enter one or multiple races. The 5k is divided into Open, Seeded, and Elite heats, with pacers set for 20:00, 17:00, and 15:00 respectively. The youth meet, organized in partnership with River City Run Club, includes 200m, 1600m, and 3200m races. Spectators are welcome, and registration includes a free shirt. All proceeds benefit the Driftless Distance Project's initiatives in running.
Haunted Hustle Run
SAM OCT 24
The Haunted Hustle is a Halloween-themed race day held at KEVA Sports Center in Middleton, Wisconsin, with the start and finish lines at the same location. The event offers a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 5K dog jog, 5K walk, and a kid's run, suitable for runners, walkers, families, and participants with a dog. The race names reflect the theme, such as the Monster Dash, Haunted Half Marathon, Terror 10K, Run For Your Life 5K, Great Pup-Kin Run, and Zombie Walk 5K. The Middleton races begin in a sequence on a Saturday morning, starting with the kids' Monster Dash, followed by the longer and shorter distance races departing a few minutes apart. Costumes are encouraged, but standard running attire is also acceptable. The finish area features live music and refreshments, contributing to a Halloween festival atmosphere rather than a simple road race. A separate Haunted Hustle 5K run/walk takes place in Jefferson City, Missouri, with proceeds benefiting the Sneaker Project.
Run Like a Rubber Clucker

Chilly Willy Winter Run Series - SEVEN Events!
SAM NOV 7
The Chilly Willy Winter Run Series features seven events held in Wisconsin between November and March. The series focuses on cold-weather running, offering 5K and 10K races at most locations, alongside a walking series and two half marathons throughout the season. Presented by Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC, the series allows half marathon participants to remain in contention on days without their chosen distance; they are placed in the 10K category for those events. Rucking, which involves hiking with a weighted backpack and originates from military training, is now available at all events as a lower-impact fitness choice.
Frosty Rock Challenge
SAM NOV 7
The Frosty Rock Challenge takes place in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, starting at Fort Atkinson High School on a Saturday in November. It features three distances: a 12k run, a 5k run, and a free 1-mile walk/run. This variety accommodates runners seeking a longer mixed-surface course, as well as families and walkers. The 12k and 5k require a pre-registration fee, and event T-shirts are available for purchase. The Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson organizes the race. The 12k course begins at the high school, incorporating both roads and trails as it extends into Dorothy Carnes County Park before looping back to the school grounds. Participants will pass the historic Mason Farms log home and traverse areas of oak savannah, marshes, wetlands, and prairie. Proceeds from the race benefit Fort Rotary projects, such as local park enhancements, school programs, and non-profit initiatives. Additionally, funds contribute to food, health, water, and sanitation efforts in countries including the Philippines, India, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Poland, and Ukraine.
Girls on the Run Fall 5K - Waunakee
MER NOV 11
The Girls on the Run Fall 5K in Waunakee concludes the season for Girls on the Run teams from South Central Wisconsin schools. This untimed 5K focuses on finishing together after a season developing running, teamwork, confidence, and life skills. Girls run with assigned buddies. Families, guardians, relatives, siblings, coaches, and other supporters cheer from the course. The event emphasizes personal achievement and empowerment for girls and people who identify as girls, with Bucky Badger present to add to the finish-line atmosphere.
Birdie Derby 5k/10k Run/Walk
JEU NOV 26
Birdie Derby is a Thanksgiving morning 10K run and 5K run/walk in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, starting at 5500 E. Cheryl Parkway. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and includes individual and team entries, untimed 5K walking options, virtual 5K and 10K choices, and a free 100-yard Kids Dash for ages 2 to 6 with a paid adult registration. The race complements Madison’s Thanksgiving routine: participants get active before the holiday meal, then receive a race bib, long-sleeved shirt or tech hoodie, knit hat, free photos, and Sportstats timing on a precisely measured course. Finish-line items include a Kwik Trip Glazer, chocolate milk, banana, water, and free Oasis Cafe coffee or hot chocolate before and after the race. All proceeds benefit a Wisconsin nonprofit and support Active Youth Wisconsin, which helps children become active by providing equipment and clothing.
Great Gobble Wobble
JEU NOV 26
The Gobble Wobble is a Thanksgiving morning 5K and walk hosted by the Greater Philadelphia Y. It is designed for families, offering 5K and Wobble Walk choices, with separate pricing for adults and children, and complimentary entry for kids under 6. The race also benefits the Y's financial assistance program, making the holiday run a fundraiser for local access to YMCA programs. Instead of a single start line, the Gobble Wobble utilizes four race locations throughout the greater Philadelphia area. The listed sites include the Haverford Y in Havertown and the Navy Yard Marine Parade Grounds on South Broad Street in Philadelphia. Haverford's 5K begins at 8:30 AM. A virtual option is also available for those traveling, out of town, or not wishing to wake early on Thanksgiving morning.
