La CASA Superhero 5K and Kids 1 Mile, c'est une journée de course familiale sur le Percival’s Island Trail à Lynchburg, Virginia. Au programme, tu as un 5K chronométré, une marche 5K non compétitive et un 1 Mile fun pour les enfants. Le 5K course est ouvert aux 8 ans et plus et part en premier, avec la marche quelques minutes plus tard. La course enfants est pour les 12 ans et moins et se fait plus tard dans la matinée. Les inscriptions ouvrent en juillet, et attention, pas d'inscription sur place le jour J. Le 5K course et marche est limité à 550 participants au total. Le parcours emprunte le James River trail. L'événement a un thème super-héros : les coureurs et marcheurs du 5K reçoivent un t-shirt ou une cape, un sac de goodies (swag bag), et une médaille de finisher, et les enfants, eux, ont une cape et une médaille. Le 5K récompense les trois premiers de chaque catégorie d'âge et de sexe. Le 1 Mile enfants n'est pas chronométré et part en vagues, espacées d'environ une minute. The SML Turkey Trot takes place Thanksgiving morning at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, featuring a 5K suitable for families and a 1-mile run for children. Organized by LAT Wellness Studio, it is presented as the area's sole turkey trot, welcoming both runners and walkers on its asphalt course. Children are especially invited to participate. A part of the funds supports the state park, shirts are assured for those who sign up by the October deadline, and awards for runners commence later in the morning.
