The race starts at Perryville Community Park, on bluffs overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. The swim begins with an in-water start in the Bay. The Sprint bike course is a rolling out and back. The Olympic course is more technical, mixing suburbia, farm country, and a fast section along River Road. The run is mostly flat, along the Bay on sidewalks and back roads. Athletes must remain in the park until the bike course is clear, or park at the fire department lot if departing early.
