Fiery Gizzard Run 2026

The Fiery Gizzard Run guides participants along the Fiery Gizzard Trail, offering marathon and half marathon distances from Foster Falls State Park in Tennessee. This is a late-November trail race, not a road event, with a limited field typically between 100 and 500 runners. The start and finish lines are located at the Grundy Forest section of the trail. Half marathon runners complete the trail once, while marathon runners traverse it twice in an out-and-back configuration. The course follows park-maintained trails, featuring predominantly flat ridgeline sections interspersed with steep, technical descents into gorges. Runners will encounter waterfalls, rock formations, scenic overlooks, and significant elevation changes, with approximately 3,500 feet of climbing for the half marathon and 7,000 feet for the full marathon.
