Run for the Bagel 2026

Run for the Bagel is a race in Mattoon, Illinois, organized by the Mattoon Area YMCA as part of the town’s annual Bagelfest. This community road race offers 5K and 10K distances, a 1 Mile Fun Run, and a virtual participation option for those unable to attend in person. The start is located at the KC Summers Toyota building, situated at 19th and Broadway. Packet pickup is available at the YMCA, with an additional option at Bock Gym on race morning. Bagelfest refers to the run as Mattoon’s favorite tradition, having been held over thirty-five times. The event attracts local runners, walkers, families, and Bagelfest attendees, with funds supporting the YMCA’s Membership for All scholarship program.
