STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill 2026

STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill is a timed trail-loop challenge held at Sugar Hill State Forest, near Watkins Glen, New York. All participants begin at 7:00 AM. They then select a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour race duration and complete as many laps as possible within their chosen timeframe. The event is limited to 100 runners due to parking constraints, maintaining a smaller scale compared to larger trail ultramarathons. The course consists of a 4-mile loop featuring approximately 500 feet of elevation gain per circuit. An aid station is positioned at the start/finish area for each lap. Registration provides access to the aid station, post-run refreshments, a BOCO Gear hat, a finisher medal, and unique awards for the leading male and female competitors. Following the race, STRC organizes a family-friendly cookout, offering burgers, hot dogs, side dishes, and vegetarian or vegan choices, served under a covered pavilion equipped with picnic tables. The Sugar Hill Recreation Area also offers 26 first-come, first-served campsites and primitive camping options, convenient for runners wishing to stay near the race venue.
