Summit Mountain Challenge 2027

The Summit Mountain Challenge is a six-race summer mountain bike series held in Breckenridge, Colorado. Races take place on Wednesday evenings from late May through mid-August, utilizing trails within Summit County and the White River National Forest. The series offers long, short, and kids' course options, allowing participants to compete at various distances within the same series. The riding involves typical mountain biking: fast trail sections, significant climbs, and high-altitude conditions that may necessitate race delays, cancellations, or rescheduling by the race director. The series concludes with the Breckenridge Classic. Competitors aiming for the overall standings are required to complete five of the six races on the same course type. Breckenridge Recreation now manages the series, having taken over from Jeff Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions. The focus remains on providing affordable, well-organized community racing.
