The Bargara by Night 12hr Backyard Ultra adheres to the backyard format: participants depart each hour, traverse the identical loop, and continue until only one runner remains. This event is designed for those with existing running experience, including seasoned athletes new to this format. The course follows scenic coastal trails and beachfront paths, offering ocean vistas during daylight before the main challenge commences: night running under the moon. After dark, headlamps illuminate the familiar coastline, creating an atmospheric, moonlit run along the Queensland shore. The rule is straightforward and demanding: complete the loop within the hour, return to the start, and prepare for the next hour, or your race concludes.
