Rond Terrace in Parkes provides the start line. The route goes through the "streets of our capital," passing Old Parliament House and New Parliament House. It feels like a large local morning gathering rather than a serious race: many runners pursue goals, many are first-timers, and children have their own moment.
The course is fast and flat, suitable for settling in, using pacers, and attempting to "hit a PB or complete your first race." The 5K begins at King George Terrace, with a shuttle from the finish area. All participants gather at the event village for food, coffee, entertainment, recovery, and the PB Bell if successful. "Grab your mates, get training" suits the atmosphere: practical, friendly, and positive.
