Experiment'Ale Winter Trail is a night trail race held in Esneux, Belgium, located in the Ardennes region near Liège. Participants can select from 9, 16, or 24 kilometer courses. Each distance is available in two formats: Sportif, for a direct run, or Festif, which includes a refreshment stop offering beer or other beverages. The longest route provides the most accurate representation of the terrain, featuring 750 meters of elevation gain over its 24 kilometers.
This race takes place during the colder months, so the environment may present damp air, low temperatures, and potentially snow on the ground. The number of participants is intentionally capped at 300 spots per distance. The event is open to participants of all ages. The concept is straightforward yet unique: a winter evening trail run in the Ardennes, with the option to complete it competitively or to enjoy the beer-themed Festif aspect during or after the run.
