The Elphinstone Ascent

The Elphinstone Ascent is a vertical kilometre race held at 1235 Stewart Road in Gibsons, British Columbia. It begins on an August morning with a single objective: ascend until a full kilometre of elevation is gained. Participants can compete for the King or Queen of the Mountain title by racing flat out, or they can tackle the climb at a more moderate pace alongside fellow outdoor enthusiasts. All participants reconvene at the summit, using the descent for shared recovery instead of a second competitive run.
