2. Ultramarathon Rund um Werther 2026

Rund um Werther is a 47 km trail ultramarathon in North Rhine-Westphalia, primarily encircling the town of Werther, with its starting point in Steinhagen. This loop course includes approximately 990 meters of elevation gain, making it longer and steeper than a road marathon, yet not a mountain ultra. The race has a field limit of 20 participants, a 10-hour time limit, and runners must carry their own provisions, with two aid stations available. The start and finish are located at the hiking trail information board near Gaststätte Friedrichshöhe in Steinhagen. Roughly 31 km of the course utilize the Rundwanderweg Werther, a circular path around Werther’s town, while the initial section incorporates a loop towards Bielefeld and the Olderdissen Zoo. Ute Karklis directs the event, with an entry fee of 20 euros. Previous results indicate a small gathering, with 22 finishers recorded in the last edition.
