The Aranda de Duero triathlon offers participants two non-drafting race distances in the Burgos wine town: a 24.8 km sprint and a 49.5 km standard (Olympic-distance) race. Organized by Club Triatlón Aranda de Duero, it is part of the Triatlón Castilla y León series. The event has limited capacity, with 50 spots for the sprint and 190 for the standard race.
The race takes place around the Duero river in Aranda de Duero, following the standard swim-bike-run format without bike drafting. Cutoff times are in place: 30 minutes for the sprint swim and 2 hours total, and 40 minutes for the standard swim and 3 hours 30 minutes total. Participants require an active FTCYL timing chip, to be returned post-race. A local tradition involves packet pickup combined with a visit to an underground winery before race day.
