The Pisa Half Marathon begins and ends close to the Leaning Tower, providing a distinctively Pisan setting before participants consider their race times. This 21 km road race takes place on the second Sunday in October, featuring chip timing and FIDAL competitive status. The event is one of Italy's quicker half marathons, with sections within San Rossore Natural Park that are nearly flat and have minimal turns. The route connects the city to San Rossore Regional Park, crossing Pisa's districts and historical sites before heading back towards its renowned tower. Registration is primarily for cardholding athletes, though international non-cardholders may participate for tourism-sporting reasons according to event regulations. Established in 2007, the race holds FIDAL Bronze Label status, directs its proceeds to charity annually, and runs concurrently with the Pisa Ten, a 10 km event for families.
