Minna de Relay Marathon is a relay running event for all ages held at Yodogawa River Park in Osaka's Nishinakajima district, starting early in the morning in late May. Teams of 2 to 15 people share the distance, with individual entries also available, including a solo division presented as a challenge to teams. The event also features a half marathon distance, while the relay format covers the full marathon distance of 42.2 km. Timing is straightforward: organizers record only the total finishing time using manual timing.
The course is set in the riverside park alongside the Yodogawa, making the race more about shared running than a technical road-racing setup. The organizer, Running Entertainment LLC, promotes it with the phrase “Connect the heart’s sash through running,” using the relay sash as the event’s central image. Beginners, families, seniors, women, people recovering from injury, runners focused on fitness, and those seeking a social event are all explicitly welcomed. Over 20 teams participated in the first edition, giving it the character of a local community race centered on groups rather than solely fast runners.
