The 25th Osaka Relay Marathon takes place in Oizumi Ryokuchi Park, Osaka, starting north of the Sports House. The race utilizes a 2 km loop on the park's circuit road, offering three distances: a 42.195 km team relay, a 10 km solo run, and a 2 km family run. The Osaka Relay Marathon Executive Committee organizes the event, with assistance from Osaka Prefecture. Participants must be capable of completing 2 km independently; wheelchair participants are not permitted.
The primary event is the relay, where teams of 4 to 14 runners complete the marathon distance by exchanging a tasuki sash. Teams determine their own running order and individual distances. The family race is designed for parent-child teams of up to three, requiring at least one elementary school-aged child or younger. Field sizes are limited to 50 relay teams, 50 family teams, and 50 solo runners, suggesting a more localized and structured event rather than a massive one. All participants receive a prize, and finishing teams are awarded a record certificate.
