OMM LITE/BIKE is a summer navigation event held in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, with its event center at Hakuba 47 Ski Resort. Teams of 2 to 5 people receive a map and select checkpoints at their own pace, either on foot for OMM LITE or by bike for OMM BIKE. The format resembles rogaining more than a fixed-route race, and this LITE/BIKE version is designed to be more relaxed than the main OMM Japan event.
The course area covers the highlands surrounding Hakuba and Otari. Runners, hikers, cyclists, families, beginners, and more experienced mountain racers participate over the same weekend. The event started in 2016 and combines navigation with camping; the overnight basecamp is a significant attraction, featuring food stalls, a bar, and live music alongside the competition. It also serves as a practical training opportunity for individuals aiming to improve their map-reading abilities before OMM Japan or other mountain races.
