Rutbeekcross is a winter cross race held at Het Rutbeek, a recreation area near Enschede in the Netherlands' Twente region. It is part of the Twentse Cross Competitie, a six-race regional series organized by local athletics clubs. AC Tion from Enschede is the organizer for this particular event. The race features six distances, ranging from 1 km to 10 km, catering to various age groups with youth races, a Kids Cross, and the primary 5 km and 10 km races for adults.
The course utilizes the natural Rutbeek landscape, deviating from a standard flat road loop. Participants will run alongside the water, traverse wooded areas, and ascend a climb on the mountain bike path situated behind the ski hill. This terrain provides a genuine cross-country character, bringing together short-distance juniors, club runners, and longer-distance participants at the same venue. As the fourth event in the Twentse Cross Competitie, entries are limited to 600 participants, maintaining its atmosphere as a local club race rather than a large-scale city event.
