Rutbeekcross is a winter cross-country run held at Het Rutbeek, a recreation area on the edge of Enschede, Netherlands. It is organized by Atletiek Club TION of Enschede and is part of the Kievit Sport Twentse Cross Competitie, a six-event regional cross series. The event includes races for children and adults, featuring youth races, a Kids Cross, and longer distances like 5 km and 10 km. Entry is limited to 600 runners, with late registration available if spots remain.
The course utilizes the Rutbeek terrain, avoiding flat road running. It winds along the water, through the woods, and up the mountain bike path behind the ski hill. This climb and the obstacle-filled cross routes provide a true off-road experience, distinct from a simple park loop. Club runners, young athletes, recreational runners, and spectators gather for this compact winter event, which offers on-site first aid and has participants as professional yet informal.
