Mount Difficulty Ascent

Mount Difficulty Ascent is an off-road race at Mt Difficulty in Bannockburn, near Cromwell, offering 25K and 44K distances. Held in June, it is a challenging trail event, while the Rustic Run and Walk provides a more accessible option on the same day. This course is not designed for running from start to finish. The climbs are steep enough to require walking with hands on knees, and some sections involve scrambling over dirty, rocky slopes; snow might also be present. Highland Events organizes the race.
