Riverhead Forest provides the setting: off-road tracks, trees, and varied routes that challenge both legs and mind. TrailNav Series 2 is the second event in Lactic Turkey's TrailNav Series 2026. It offers a blend of trail running and low-key adventure racing, distinct from a marked-course event. Participants can run or walk at their own pace, focusing on purposeful movement.
Solo participants and teams of 2 to 5 aim to "navigate to as many checkpoints as they can," earning points for each one. A unique element involves mystery activities that may demand "brains, brawn, teamwork, strategy or a combination of all," meaning physical fitness alone is insufficient. The navigation is designed to be accessible: "no compass needed," and basic map-reading skills are sufficient.
