The Bangtail Divide 38K is a small Montana trail race near Bozeman, limited to 150 runners and starting at 6:30 AM. It runs point-to-point from Stone Creek Road to Brackett Creek Parking Lot via the Bangtail Divide Trail (Trail 504). Registration is first-come, first-served, and the race is open to participants aged 13 to 99.
Race morning begins at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center for check-in and mandatory shuttles, as there is no parking at the start or finish. Spectators may park at the finish. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday before at Bozeman Running Company on East Main Street; no race-day pickup is available. The event is cupless, uses volunteers for aid stations and logistics, and awards the top three overall male and female finishers, along with the first Masters male and female finishers, without duplication.
