The Big Timber XC Challenge is a trail race series held at Camp Big Timber on Big Timber Road in Elgin, Illinois. Participants can select a 3-mile race, a 5-mile race (approximately 8 kilometers), or a quarter-mile fun run for children, accommodating adults, younger runners, and families.
The course follows the camp’s natural trails, incorporating sections of grass, gravel, and single-track rather than a typical road circuit. The Three Fires Council, BSA is the organizer, and the event welcomes runners of all abilities, from those new to trail running to experienced racers seeking a challenging off-road competition.
