Bunyan Battle 5K Run/Walk

The Bunyan Battle 5K Run/Walk is a game-day 5K held at Island Lake State Park in Brighton, Michigan. Michigan and Michigan State fans gather before the football rivalry game later that day. Participants select a Wolverine or Spartan entry, with both in-person races commencing together in the morning. Virtual 5K options are also available for each team, allowing supporters to participate remotely. The course follows the Island Lake Trail, offering a fully paved out-and-back 5K route. This design suits walkers, first-time participants, and regular runners. Access to the park requires a Michigan State Park pass. The race is chip timed with live results. Registration includes a custom Dri-Fit shirt, a commemorative bib, and a finisher medal. A tank top upgrade can be purchased for an additional fee.
