The Champion Mine Trail Race begins on historic Broad Street in Nevada City, Northern California. It offers a trail-heavy half marathon, with 10K and 5K run/walk options available. This annual event is organized by the Sierra TrailBlazers Running Club and Bear Yuba Land Trust, with registration opening each June.
The half marathon spans 13.1 miles, incorporating towering pines, pavement, gravel, and single-track trail. Participants will cross a historic swinging bridge, pass landmarks connected to the area’s mining history, and follow sections near Tribute Trail and Deer Creek. The course includes several climbs and a newly constructed trail section providing varied terrain. Multiple aid stations are positioned along the route. The Sierra TrailBlazers, founded in 1978 and affiliated with the Road Runners Club of America, bring extensive local history to the event.
