Frozen Assets 5K Run/Walk

The Frozen Assets 5K Run/Walk takes participants directly onto the ice of Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. The entire 5K course is on the frozen lake, beginning and ending at The Edgewater during the Frozen Assets Festival. The course offers views of downtown Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The Clean Lakes Alliance organizes this event, offering a break from Madison's typical hilly pavement by hosting the race on lake ice. Participants can opt for an untimed walk, a chip-timed run, or a skate. Children aged 10 and under participate for free with an accompanying adult registration.
