Haynes Apperson 5K 2026

The Haynes Apperson 5K begins and ends at the downtown Kokomo Family YMCA on North Union Street in Kokomo, Indiana. This is a morning 5K offering separate run and walk divisions. Participants assemble at the YMCA start-finish arch; runners position themselves near the front, and walkers begin farther back. The route departs the YMCA, proceeds through Foster Park, UCT, and Kokomo Beach, then circles back via the Walk of Excellence Trail. Participants receive medals. T-shirt pickup occurs at the YMCA prior to race morning. Awards are presented to competitive runners and walkers, including overall, masters, and age-group categories for the run, and overall and age-group awards for the walk. Walkers must complete the entire course. Registration is not available on race day, so early sign-up is required.
