Julia's Warriors Run for Hope is an annual 5K run and 1-mile walk held at Little Platte Swim Beach in Smithville, Missouri. The 5K begins at 8:00 a.m., with the walk starting five minutes later, allowing runners and walkers to share the same morning without being crowded into a single start. This event supports Breast Cancer Awareness and was established as a living tribute to Julia Bargman and her lifelong battle with breast cancer.
The race maintains a community atmosphere, offering family and team registration for groups of four or more, including friends, co-workers, gym partners, and relatives. Faster runners have targets: the men's course record is 15:32, set by Shawn Etzenhouser, and the women's record is 19:19, held by Margaret Chamas. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. A notable tradition is the pink ribbon option, where participants can purchase a ribbon in memory or honor of someone affected by cancer, with the aim of decorating the course with ribbons of hope.
