The Juneteenth in Da Rock 5K begins at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center on West 9th Street in Little Rock. Runners and walkers depart early in the morning, participating in Arkansas’s largest Juneteenth festival. The event connects to a broader day focused on freedom, culture, and community, featuring live music, family activities, and a street festival surrounding the race.
The 5K route includes stops at African American historical locations such as Arkansas Baptist College, Little Rock Central High School, Philander Smith College, and the residence of Mifflin Gibbs, the nation's first elected Black judge. The run/walk benefits the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center's mission. Participants return to historic West 9th Street for the Juneteenth celebration. All registered participants receive a medal; however, those registering late or on race day might receive theirs after the event.
