The Okie Half, held in March in Muskogee, Oklahoma, offers a half marathon and a 5k. Both races begin and conclude within Hatbox Events Park's restored Hanger 1. The half marathon starts at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 5k at 8:00 a.m. The half marathon has a 4-hour, 15-minute time limit. Both courses are flat and USATF certified, providing a straightforward road race. I:40 Race Service organizes the event with support from the Muskogee Running Club and Muskogee Parks & Recreation.
The half marathon course departs Hatbox and incorporates several Muskogee landmarks, such as the historic ROXY Theatre, the Merle Haggard statue, and the Depot District. The 5k route remains near Hatbox Sports Complex, primarily utilizing its loop trail. The finish line returns runners to the hangar, where half marathoners receive a post-race meal from Mother Tuckers BBQ. Awards consist of first-place mugs for half marathon age-group winners, cast finisher medals for half marathon participants, and wooden medals for second and third place in 5k age groups.
