Ragnar Suncoast is a team relay on Florida’s Gulf Coast, structured around daylight running rather than the typical overnight Ragnar format. Teams use the Clearwater Beach Sheraton Resort on Sand Key as their home base, with runners departing from and returning to this location each day. The standard configuration involves eight runners over two days and one night. Four-runner Ultra teams complete the same weekend schedule, and four-runner Sprint teams run for one day. The complete course spans 127 miles, averaging about 15.9 miles per runner on a standard team, with the route showing zero elevation gain.
The race is divided into a South Loop and a North Loop, so teams run one loop on the first day and the other on the second. The course utilizes palm-lined Gulf Coast paths and passes through locations like the Pinellas Trail, Fort De Soto Park & Beach, St. Pete Beach, Madeira Beach, Belleair Beach, and Safety Harbor. There are no night legs: all running concludes before dark each evening, and teams reconvene at the Sheraton. The finish embraces the beach environment, featuring a resort base, white sand, sunset views, and a beach party to conclude.
