Reindeer Run/Walk

The Reindeer Run/Walk is a 5k run/walk through downtown Charleston, South Carolina, with a holiday theme that includes families and dogs. It is an annual event with a long local history, running for 35 years and drawing more than 3,500 participants after starting with only a few hundred. Runners and walkers share the same downtown event, and the day leans into the costume side of the season. The costume contest includes adult, child, group, and dog categories, so pets are part of the show rather than just spectators. Money raised supports MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, including its expanded neonatal intensive care unit, a full floor for children with cancer, and South Carolina’s most comprehensive pediatric heart center.
