Ring My Bell is a small-town Independence Day race in Oreana, Illinois, starting from 407 S View Street early in the morning. Runners and walkers can choose either a 4.5-mile run or a 2-mile walk/run, with both distances starting together at 7:30 AM CDT. The event maintains a simple setup: flat town courses, age-group awards for participants from kids through runners 70 and over, and a red, white, and blue dress theme fitting the holiday.
The 4.5-mile course winds through town before heading out and back on a country road, featuring one water stop that runners pass twice. The 2-mile option offers walkers and casual runners a shorter route to participate in the morning's activities. Following the race, participants receive a full meal, not just a small snack: spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce, rolls, salad, drinks, and the event's well-known GOOD COOKIES.
