The Sri Chinmoy 10km & 4km Fun Run is a running and walking event held twice yearly at Acton Park in Canberra. Both races begin and end at the Acton Ferry Terminal. It typically takes place on public holidays, starting early in the morning. Participants can choose between a certified 10km course and a shorter 4km option for a more relaxed pace.
The route follows shared cycle paths along the northern shore of Lake Burley Griffin on the Sri Chinmoy Recreational Running Course. The 10km route, used for racing since 1984, is flat and measured, suitable for achieving fast times. The 4km utilizes the same pathway system with minimal elevation gain. The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team organizes the event, prioritizing participation over intense competition. This allows club runners, new participants, walkers, families, and individuals with permanent Sri Chinmoy race bibs to join the same morning. A post-race breakfast and awards ceremony are customary.
