2026 Winter Criterium

The University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus hosts this event, with the race utilizing a compact UON circuit that is "closed to traffic" and features an "excellent surface." The 2026 Winter Criterium offers a club-afternoon atmosphere with graded starts, swift racing, and the standard sequence of sign-on, setup, racing, presentation, and pack down. The course is set for traditional criterium racing: repeated laps on clear tarmac, with traffic removed. A downhill finish line will emphasize positioning as the speed increases. Riders are categorized from A to F grades, featuring shorter race durations for lower grades and extended efforts for the top categories, catering to those who prefer close, tactical racing. A local-club tradition persists: volunteers are actively sought for setup and packup, and assistance contributes to CCCC award eligibility.
