SportScheck RUN Erfurt 2026

SportScheck RUN Erfurt is a night half marathon through Erfurt's old town, with the start and finish at Theaterplatz. This is the first SportScheck city run half marathon held after dark, making the illuminated streets an integral part of the race. The event is organized by Nils Schumann, an Erfurt-born Olympic 800-meter champion. Half marathon runners complete a 5.25 kilometer loop four times. The route crosses the Petersberg, passes over the Gera river, and includes sights such as the Zitadelle Petersberg, Krämerbrücke, town hall, Klein Venedig, Augustiner-Kloster, and Erfurt Cathedral. The course's repeated passage through the historic center, with cobblestones and illuminated old-town landmarks, creates a compact city run feel.
