Correndo por Vigo - 10K is a night race held in Vigo’s As Travesas neighborhood. The main 5K and 10K races commence at 10:00 PM, with children’s races starting an hour prior. It is part of the municipal Run Run Vigo racing circuit, and the 10K serves as one of nine scoring events. Approximately 1,300 runners participate across all distances, including about 250 children up to age 15. The second Saturday of June is chosen for its typically cooler evening weather.
The course begins near the As Travesas market in Florida. It proceeds through Praza de América, Castelao, Porriño, Baiona, Redondela, returns to Castelao, then goes through Quintela and down Fotógrafo. Known as the “Race of the Brave,” its charity initiative is specific: runners can register their weight, and their finish time is used to calculate calories burned. These are then converted into food donations for the Vigo Food Bank. Handbikes from the Discamino solidarity project start ahead of the 5K and 10K, a race tradition. Local backing is provided by the As Travesas market, neighborhood businesses, Campofrío, Máis Que Auga in Florida, and the City Council.
