The Marathon de Lleida is a marathon held in Lleida, Catalonia, featuring shorter races on the same day. It was held for three editions; the planned fourth edition was canceled after the organizer cited external issues beyond the association's control.
The disagreement involves support from the Paeria, Lleida’s city council. The organizer stated that planning for a fourth edition had begun before receiving written notification that council backing would be withdrawn. Runner participation also seems to be a factor, with total entries decreasing from 458 in the first edition to 394 in a subsequent one, and marathon finishers dropping from 262 to 143. A representative for the city's sports department commented that the race had not drawn sufficient participants in its existing format.
