Informazioni su questa gara
The Tsunoshima Sunset Marathon takes place in October in Toyotomi, Shimonoseki, located on the northwest coast of Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its defining feature is that runners cross Tsunoshima Bridge, the lengthy span over the blue water connecting the mainland to Tsunoshima Island. The event offers a 10 km race as its longest distance, with 5 km options available for individuals and pairs. The participant limit is around 1,200, giving it the feel of a local coastal event rather than a large urban race.
The course covers the Kanda and Tsunoshima areas, with the former Shimonoseki Municipal Tsunoshima Elementary School serving as the base for reception and ceremonies. The race starts late, allowing participants to finish and then observe the sunset over the Sea of Japan from Tsunoshima. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with the 10 km individual race being the most popular category, followed by the 5 km individual and pair races.
