Informazioni su questa gara
The KITA!SENJU Marathon takes place annually along the Arakawa riverbed in Adachi Ward, Tokyo, near Kita-Senju. The race is held in November, with check-in beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Arakawa Riverside area beyond Niji no Hiroba. This event prioritizes accessibility and affordability over large-scale production, with an anticipated participation of 500 to 1,000 runners. A wide range of distances are offered: 1 km for elementary school children, 3 km for junior high students and younger, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, half marathon, 30 km, full marathon, and a 20 km relay consisting of four 5 km segments.
The course follows the Arakawa riverbed, providing a flat but exposed path; one participant noted the riverbank presented a challenge against the wind. The event is designed for novice runners and all skill levels, while also accommodating faster participants, with prize winners receiving complimentary entry to the subsequent race. Feedback suggests a small, community-oriented atmosphere: participants have reported receiving bibs and sports drinks at check-in, aid stations approximately every 2.5 km, water available for cooling, and attentive staff members who support even slower runners. The race also caters to women, seniors, individuals in rehabilitation, and those focused on diet.
